Doyle, Heroth, Hope to Make First Supermodified Start

Oswego Speedway Small Block Super Racers Dalton Doyle, Kreig Heroth Secure Supermodified Rides for Budweiser International Classic Weekend

OSWEGO, NY (August 31, 2015) – When Budweiser International Classic Weekend racing activity kicks off on Friday, September 4 with ‘Corr/Pak Merchandising Fast Friday’ at Oswego Speedway, Pathfinder Bank SBS veterans Dalton Doyle and Kreig Heroth will have a little extra on their Classic plates.

Both Doyle and Heroth have secured Novelis Supermodified rides for the richest and most prestigious supermodified event in the country, the Budweiser International Classic 200.

Leading the Pathfinder Bank SBS point standings for much of this season, Doyle will pilot the back-up Tim Devendorf Hawk Jr. Chassis supermodified this weekend.  The machine is a former Greg Furlong supermodified, driven to Classic wins from 2005-2007 as well as track titles in ’05 and ’07.

Doyle has zero supermodified experience heading into the weekend, but will gain valuable track time during Classic Week testing leading up to the weekend.

Heroth, the 2012 Pathfinder Bank SBS series champion, will drive the No. 45 supermodified this weekend, owned by Mike Barbera. Barbera drove his Muldoon chassis in 2014, claiming the overall Oswego Speedway Rookie of the Year title while also qualifying through the Bud Light B-Main for the International Classic in his first attempt.

Like Doyle, Heroth has no supermodified racing experience, but he did hot lap the No. 45 during Fast Friday testing last week.  Heroth quickly found the 17-second bracket with the machine, topping out at a best lap of 17.2-seconds.

Doyle and Heroth will look to join fellow SBS graduates such as Furlong, Bob Bond, Michael Barnes, and Brian Sobus as drivers starting their first ever supermodified feature during the Budweiser International Classic 200.

With entries continuing to come in for the International Classic, each will have to work hard to make the field.

Round one qualifying will take place Friday night, locking the “Fast 14” qualifiers into the field.

Second round time trials will take place at noon on Sunday, locking in positions 15-28 or potentially only positions 15-24, depending on car count.

If there are 40 Novelis Supermodifieds in the pit area on Sunday, only positions 15-24 will be secured in round two time trials, with two heat races and the Bud Light B-Main filling the rest of the 34 car field.

Doyle and Heroth will join Aric Iosue, Mike McVetta, Logan Rayvals, and Kevin Jaycox as drivers in search of the $500 Total Seal Rookie of the Race Award.
