Otto Sitterly Supermodified on Display at Motorsports Expo

Otto Sitterly Supermodified to be Displayed at Motorsports Expo March 14-15

OSWEGO, NY (March 9, 2015) – One of John Nicotra Racing’s Novelis Supermodifieds driven by seven-time Oswego Speedway track champion Otto Sitterly, will be on display this weekend at the Motorsports Expo to be held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse, NY.

The Motorsports Expo is the un-official start to the 2015 Oswego Speedway racing season with the ‘Steel Palace’ once again featuring a multi-car display at the Expo, along with two supermodified simulators for fans to take a set of laps at the famed oval.

Two Pathfinder Bank Small Block Supers are also expected to be at this year’s Expo, including the Crow Motorsports 2014 championship ride of Andrew Schartner and 2012 Small Block champion Kreig Heroth.

In 2014, Sitterly completed his historic seventh Novelis Supermodified track championship run tying him with legends Jim Shampine and Bentley Warren.

Sitterly then capped the season by capturing his fourth Budweiser International Classic 200 crown on Labor Day weekend.

The Nicotra team will again field rides for Sitterly, Dave Shullick Jr., and Davey Hamilton in 2015.

Oswego Kartway will once again be a part of Oswego’s overall booth with schedules and membership forms available and a couple scheduled karts on display for viewing from MDR Motorsports’ Ricky Pritchard and John Stepien.

Back by popular demand at this year’s Expo will be the Oswego Speedway supermodified simulators provided by John Byrnes, Bob Garafolo, and LaGraf’s Pub in Oswego.

These simulators use car models and an online version of Oswego Speedway built by the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series or SUPRS.  This online sim racing league features wing and non-wing supermodified racing where fans from across the country can race together at www.SUPRS.net.  The race software can be downloaded for a donation of $25, which goes to the Dion Parish Memorial Benevolent Fund for Supermodifieds to support injured supermodified drivers and their families.

Rides at this year’s Expo will once again be $5 a piece with 13-laps of racing being given at Oswego Speedway behind the wheel of an ISMA winged Supermodified.  Money raised will once again go toward the Kids on Track giveaway fund in 2015.

The top five fastest times on the simulators will be tracked throughout the weekend, with Speedway race tickets being awarded to those who set the top three fastest times.

One of the more popular things to do at the Motorsports Expo each season is to collect one of the many racing schedules available for the coming year, and once again Mitchell’s Speedway Press has developed Oswego’s schedule flyer for 2015.  Be sure to stop by the Speedway booth to pick one up as well as browse the many options of Speedway merchandise that will be available.

Thomas Racing Videos will also be on hand with Speedway DVDs ready for purchase.
