Corr/Pak Merchandising to Present Memorial Weekend Oswego Speedway/ISMA ‘Super Spectacle’ Double Header
OSWEGO, NY (December 10, 2014) – Oswego Speedway is pleased to welcome back Corr/Pak Merchandising as a partner in 2015, joining on as a presenting sponsor of the highly anticipated Port City 160 ‘Super Spectacle’ featuring a supermodified double-header with the winged International Supermodified Association racers and the non-winged Novelis Supermodifieds competing on the same night at the ‘Home of the Supermodifieds’ on Saturday, May 23.
The Memorial Day Weekend blockbuster will be the second event on the supermodified calendar for each series, as the 800 horsepower machines will be joined by Oswego’s Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super series to fill the night’s schedule.
Race officials felt now would be the perfect time to resurrect one of the biggest weekends of the year at Oswego Speedway, as a part of the 65th season of action at the ‘Home of the Supermodifieds’, with Corr/Pak Merchandising now officially becoming a major part of the weekend thanks to Corr/Pak’s John and Wendy Brush.

An open practice for all competitors will take place on Friday, May 22 with a one night, action packed, non-stop evening of racing to follow on Saturday, May 23.
A total of 160 laps of green flag action will take place on Memorial Day Weekend as the Novelis Supermodifieds will turn 75 laps in their annual Jim Shampine Memorial, and ISMA running the ‘Irish’ Jack Murphy Memorial 50. The Small Block Supers will run 35 laps in the Tony White Memorial.
The ‘Super Spectacle’ during Memorial Day Weekend’s Port City 160 will not be the first time the Novelis Supermodifieds and ISMA Supermodifieds have taken on the Steel Palace on the same evening.
From 1999-2004, the Speedway held combination events, with the 2003 event being lost to rain.
Bob Goutermout (Novelis Supermodified) and Randy Ritskes (ISMA Supermodified) were inaugural winners in 1999. Craig Rayvals (Novelis Supermodified) and Johnny Payne (ISMA Supermodified) collected the last combination main event victories in 2004.
