October 10, 2014 – Sandusky, OH…The Main Event XXVII takes place this weekend at Sandusky Speedway. The Main Event Racing Series (MERS) Super Late Models and the BioBased.US Midwest Supermodified Association (MSA) Supermodifieds will crown their 2014 Champion this weekend. In addition to these two prestigious touring divisions, the Modifieds and the Front Wheel Drive Cars will also be in action.
The pre-entry list shows over thirty-five MERS Super Late Models, seventeen MSA Supermodifieds and thirty Modifieds set to battle it out. The MERS 100 lap feature on Sun. will pay $10,000 to the winner. The MSA 40 lap feature pays $1,700 to win and the Modified 40 lap feature will pay $4,000 to win. Tonight’s FWD Cars feature winner will get $300.
The pit gates open today at 9 a.m. The grandstand admission starts at 11 a.m. as do the hot lap sessions. Qualifying is at 3 p.m., racing at 7 p.m. All divisions will qualify and run heat races. The FWD Cars will run preliminary races and a feature. Adult admission is $15, $7 for ages 6-12, free to ages 5 and younger. A one day pit pass is $40, $65 for a two-day pit pass.
On Sunday the pit gates open at 9:30 a.m. Grandstand admission begins at 11 a.m., hot laps at 11 a.m. also. Racing starts at 1:30 p.m. with last chance and feature races. Adult admission is $25, $7 ages 6-12, free to ages 5 and younger. A pit pass is $40. Call (419) 625-4084.
