Some Laps Worth $500 to Leader of 58th Annual International Classic 200
OSWEGO, NY (August 21, 2014) – At the end of the 58th annual Budweiser International Classic 200 for Novelis Supermodifieds on Sunday, August 31, a total of $6,900 in lap money will be distributed to lap leaders of the richest and most prestigious event in supermodified racing.
Each year, Oswego Speedway Hall of Fame member Jim Liccardi works to sell lap sponsorships in memory of or supporting Oswego Speedway competitors.
Each lap of the Budweiser International Classic 200 is worth at least $25 to the leader, and in some cases considerably more, as several bonus laps were sold for this year’s running of the Classic.
Laps 81 and 122 will be important laps to lead in this year’s Classic as Doug & Sherry Heveron have posted $500 to lead each lap in memory of Tom & Gail Heveron. The Heverons have been a staple family in the history of Oswego Speedway as Tom owned several supermodifieds piloted by his son Doug as well as Bentley Warren.
Tom Heveron recently passed away and the Heveron family has graciously posted each bonus in the memory of both Tom & Gail.
The Trenca Family and Burritt Chevrolet also owns each respective lap, meaning a total of $525 will be paid to lead laps 81 and 122.
Other bonus laps include laps 25, 75, 125, and 175 in memory of Brad Livesey from Rudy’s Lakeside in Oswego. Each of those four laps will pay a minimum of $100 to the race leader.
This year’s lap sponsorships are just a part of the over $100,000 in cash and contingencies that will be posted during this year’s 58th running of the Budweiser International Classic 200.
Individual seating is available for all three days of Budweiser International Classic Weekend, with three-day ticket packages also available.
Three day general admission seating is $105, with three-day reserved seating set at $115, and three-day pit passes for $125.
