Hello Supermodified Racers,

Do you ever find yourself wondering if a sponsor “Googled” your name, what would show up in the search results? Would it be good, bad, negative, positive? What is out there on the web about you and your racing?

Most sponsors will check you out on the web as soon as you send them a proposal. They want to know what kind of image you have promoted, and not just on your own website and social media pages. They will research you online quite thoroughly. They want to make sure you are the exact image that they want for their company, and there is nothing negative or derogatory that can be dug up on you, (or anything yourself have posted online).

You are their potential spokesperson and representative for their brand – they take this very seriously. Sponsors will do detailed searches on you and your team before they even think about writing you a check.

In this video blog, I give and explain for you strategic tips on how to make sure that the stuff that shows up on the web about you is sponsor attractive, and how to go about using the web, social media, groups and forums to hasten the process of attracting more sponsors and fans online.
